Is it possible for me to update my PSP firmware by plugging the memory stick into my PS3 and download it directly or do I still need a PC?

There are different ways to update the psp and ps3. You could connect your psp to your pc via a usb cable and then get the update for the psp and ps3. Make sure that the file goes into the right folder. You would then insert your memory stick pro duo in the ps3 and run the update from there. Or you can set up an internet connection on the psp and the ps3 and get your updates that way. You don't nessarlly need a pc.
