Default Effing Cassette Player

WOW i bought an adapter for my car so i could listen to my ipod in the car. Use it for the first time this morning and listen to not even 30 seconds of a song. I turn off the car and it ejects out, no big deal. I restart the car and put the tape back in and it wont play!!!! Now it wont eject!!!!

I've owned this damn car for not even a week! I've used the damn adapter for not even 30 seconds! I can't get the damn thing out at all. I'm so pissed off right now.

To make matter worse i broke the end of my mechanical pencil in the player so now that is sitting in there

I just want to scream

Almost better to get an FM modulator, don't have to put anything in or out, just overrides the station.

They still put cassette players in cars?

I'd suggest getting a new radio with a 1/8" AUX in so you can plug an iPod right in. You can get them installed for like $100 if you shop around.

The fm transmitters are dependant on how crowded the airspace is in your city. In LA where there are alot of radio stations, its not as good as in a rural area where the reception won't be affected.

I've tried a few fm modulators for my ipod and found that the only good one is the one made by Monster, go figure. I think I bought it a Circuit City about 4-5 years ago.

From the reviews i've read it seems that they have some audio problems (not loud enough).

It's only 25 bucks though, i doubt that i will ever trust my cassette player ever again after today though.

You have to turn the volume up a bit, but the interference was much less than others I tested, like Belkin and Gefen. Like someone else said, with fm modulators, it all depends on how crowded the airwaves are in your area. None are perfect sounding. The best thing to do is get a new CD deck put in that has an AUX input on it.

just ordered the griffin itrip fm transmitter.

It's gotten good reviews for the most part.

Does this mean that if i'm in the middle of nowhere i can't use this transmitter? Not that i think that will ever happen but just for curiousitys sake i'd like to know

Thanks for all the input so far.

Actually, the middle of nowhere will give you the best reception.
