Default 3-d titles

I watched journey to the center 3-D but it was only the standard DVD version. I was entirely unimpressed and the glasses did nothing. Was it nothing special because it was on standard DVD, or was it due to the fact that I have a 30 inch 720p TV? Are the blu-ray 3-D films any good?

LOL! Patience young Padewan! I personally haven't purchased the film yet, but the review on this site said it looked fantastic in 3D, and in full hi-def. Not sure why yours was SD... Give people some time to come across your post and make some responses, in the meantime, check to make sure you actually have a BD version of the film, something sounds strange...

Update: didn't catch that he actually purchased the SD version, thought he was just stating that that was how it was displayed...

Don't forget that the 3-D you watch at home is the crummy old blue-red glasses version, not the super-cool polarized headgear version you see at the theater. It's an entirely different process that they can't replicate at home for a reasonable price yet.

Did you turn the 3D mode on? If i recall right i had to go under special features on the blu-ray and enable the 3D mode. If you leave it in 2d mode and pyut glasses on you won't see any difference.

Also if you take the glasses off when it is in 3d mode, you will see the red and green lines around the images. If you don't see these colors around the images when you have the glasses off then you are not in 3d mode.

The 3D on blu-ray for me looked pretty good and did pop out of the screen. Only issue i had is at times I would see the correct colors and other times 1 eye would win over the other and I would see red casts or green casts depending on which eye focused better. Kind fo similar to closing 1 eye. I foudn that really annoying and dizzing as well so i had to switch to 2d mode. Not sure fi it was ebcause of my TV or my eyes were able to at times not be tricked by the 3d glasses.

And agreed the red/green glasses are nothing like the polarized glasses that i used at the Aquarium in atlanta georgia. those images not only looked like they were 3D compared to the background in the movies. The images actually looked like they were in your face. Did n't get that same effect with the red/green glasses
