Yes! I loved Redemption. I forgot how much I missed Jack Bauer until I saw him last night.

It looks like season 7 is going to be awesome!

It's on Sky1 in the UK tonight at 10. I'll be recording it as I'll be watching the NFL game I recorded last night, or playing LBP (or maybe Tomb Raider Underworld if it's turned up).

24 Redemption is actually a stand-alone movie that prequels the new season which does not start until January 2009. It ties together what Jack has been doing since the last season and leads up to the upcoming season.

I just watched it last night, and I too am pretty excited to see it back on the airwaves come January.

I think the hiatus was actually a good thing for the series, because I was seriously losing interest in 24 as it started getting pretty ridiculous as the seasons progressed.

I mean come on people... how many times can the CTU headquarters... the COUNTER TERRORIST unit hq... get infiltrated and attacked?!

Season 6 was quite the let down, so hopefully they've made some improvements this time around.

Oh so that had nothing to do with the season? Damn I should have recorded it.

I wouldn't be surprised if this comes bundled with Season 7...they always release the first episode on DVD....and even if this is a movie, I'd think it would come with Season 7...maybe with the eventual blu-ray?

This would have been a good way for Fox to test the market for Blu24. Too bad they didn't do it.
That said, it was just kind of ok. Not the best 24 ever, but surely better than S6.

I'm thinking Redemption will end up being included on the season 7 set too. Battlestar Galactica does that; releases the minis separately and then also includes them in the season set later on. With that in mind, I'd guess that season 7 will get a blu release. That might be why they didn't bother for the single release.

That's a complete guess of course.

I would upgrade season 1 to BD if they release it. From what I remember the quality is really bad.

I love it when he snaps necks; it's always the sickest way possible (ex.last episode of season 2). In redemption he got that guy
[Show spoiler]with his freakin' leg while tied up...pwned

Default camera guy in jungle shot !

for those of you who watched this like myself, the part where Jack is trying to help his friends get the kids under the trees after the helicopter finds them and passes overhead---just after this happens, they show them in the jungle and you CLEARLY see a Camera guy with his shoulder-mounted camera in the Left side of the shot!! I actually couldn't believe it so went back with my DVR and sure enough, I was Right!! hard to believe that when Fox's people did final reviews before broadcast, this was overlooked!! too funny. please tell me I wasn't the Only person to notice this. Trust me, It happened. I wonder if they'll show it on the DVD (out today). overall, a decent episode, enough to get your appetite going for January when the show begins!!

dude in the original post I just put that I haven't seen this and just by reading the first sentence you throw spoilers in here. It's etiquette to put a spoiler warning or to black it out for those of us who haven't seen it yet.
