Default Onkyo 605 Grainy Pic

Hey Guys

Hope all is well

So i just got my onkyo 605, hooked everything up sound great, however i am noticing a slightly more grain in my pic from cable! I have my cable box hooked up via HDMI then receiver to the TV. Is there something i am missing? A setting somewhere in regards to resolution etc? Any Help would be appreciated.

Well, I don't own the 605, but I have been looking into getting an Onkyo A/V reciever and from the reviews I've read on this model and the 606 , which is basically the newer version of the 605 this is a common problem when send video through the receiver which is why I have pretty much decided against them. I may look into the 706 or 806 instead.

Crossovers are used to send the proper frequency to the right speakers. An example would be if you had a pair of bookshelf speakers, you would want these set to small. Setting them to large would send them a lower frequency which, if played loud could distort and damage them. Most crossovers will have a High Pass setting, which is what you would use in that case.

Crossover is simply the frequency in which the receiver will sound to the subwoofer below that set frequency and to the speakers above that set frequency..

I am sure there will be someone who you will give the big technical explanation but what I told you is the basics of it..

To use it.. for example if all of your speakers have a low end frequency of say 80hz, then you set the crossover to 80 hz on the receiver so any sound below 80hz plays from your sub.. Most people will recommend using 80hz anyway even if your other speakers maybe able to produce sound lower than that.. But you can play with it and decide what sounds best..

SS-F6000 Fronts

-3dB Frequency Response 40 - 50000 Hz
Input Impedance 8 Ohm
Sensitivity 89 dB

SSC-N5000 Center

Response: 85 - 50,000 Hz

Power Requirements: Power Handling: 150W
Sensitivity: 89 dB

Insignia NS B2111 Rears

80hz is a good starting point. You may be able to go a bit lower with your fronts and rears, but you want approximately a 20hz "cushion" for rolloff so it doesn't sound weird.

Your center you may want to set at 100hz unless I'm misreading it.
