Crank - One of my fav movies now, PQ and SQ amazing and movie = amazing
MI3 - WOW this one looks almost as good as Crank and is a great movie overall.
Monster House - Great kids movie that even I enjoyed and I'm 21.
Transporter 2 - Cheesy but good.

Yes, Blu-ray does look better than SkyHD, Broadcast quality HD is pretty awful apart from a few BBC shows and Sky Sports HD.

That PS3 must have been expensive what with the not being released here yet.

For eyecandy check out this list. Tier 0 and Tier 1 titles are always very good.

X-men 3 is pretty fantastic on Blue-Ray. It's in 6.1 sound as well. It's crazy. The format should only get better in time as well. Right now the disks are only using 1 layer(25 GB) so there is the opertunity to double the resolution(50GB doul layer) and there is talk that they can add a 3rd layer in the future as well.

I live in the states and the PS3 is getting much easier to find here. I got mine last week. I would imagine that Europe is going to start getting the units pretty soon so I would suggest you hold off on paying 3x's the price to get one now. Sony had a tehcnicla problem beofre the launch that slwoed down the ability to process the units at the speed they expected to so they came up very short on the production side for the launch and as a result Europe got screwed. In 2-3 months they will be pretty commen IMO.

Yeah and adding a third layer might obsolete al of the current players which I hope the BDA doesn't even consider doing.

Hi, this is my first post:P
I was wondering does Crank & Kingdom Of Heaven run on H264 codec?

I just saw Talladega's nights for the first time(The Only BD-Rom I own) on a 1080p 46" Sony X series LCD it did not impress me. kinda looked horrible. I can see those artifacts & tiny dots (noise or compression I'm not sure what it was)

Do Crank & Kingdom have this?!

TY

No reference all the way with those two discs. Not a blemish in sight.

I've never heard of a BD75. BD100 and BD200, yes.

Get your PS3 hooked up to a screen that can do 1080p, throw in Kingdom of Heaven and see the difference from Sky Lite-HD.

Ps Congrats on the PS3

MazzaChief,

I started my Blu-Ray experience a little over a month ago. I had a JVC 32in HDTV with a Denon upconverting DVD player. My new system is a Sony KLV-V40A10 (40 inch) with 1080i and the Sony BDP-S1.

With just Corpse Bride, Underworld, 16 Blocks, XMen 3, and Monster House, I would never look back. The image and sound quality is lightyears ahead of "the past."

With a 40in 1080i television and smaller and a good Blu-Ray player, you are golden, at least I cannot tell the difference between a 1080p experience and 1080i at 40inches or less.

The system is like candy for the eyes. It is amazing and worth every penny I spent. I even sold my wife on it!

With a 32in television and any Blu-Ray player you purchase, you will have no regrets.

Generally speaking, is the PQ and SQ of Blu-Ray (as well as HD-DVD, I suppose) better than that of broadcast HDTV?

Yes. Broadcast HD is compressed more, and is usually only at 720p, or 1080i. Not 1080p.
