Default what is the cause of this?

my speakers are making a static type noise. I was hearing it alot from the center (thinking because thats where alot of the action comes from but now i noticed it from the fronts. I also want to point out when I was watching the movie street kings on blu ray I was hearing the static type noise alot from the dialogue so it doesnt have to be a loud noise. I think i also may have heard it from one of the surrounds . I have my speakers (Polk audio) hooked up with banana plugs and tryed hooking it up bare wire but still makes noise. Is my Denon 2807 the problem?

Is it a recent development?

Is your BR-player a PS3?

my blu ray player is a ps3. I used to only hear it on games but then I noticed on the movie on street kings the same type of static noise i heard during playing ps3 games or maybe the noise was always there at certain points of movies but just didnt notice it. My polks were under manufactuers warranty and they sent me a new tweeter to one of the fronts but the noise is still thier

Is your PS3s volume set at 0?

Play process of elimination:

Try to see if it is your receiver, wires, speakers, sources...

My guess is that it may be from the cables and wires. Are you using a power conditioner? What type of subwoofer cable are you using? Make sure your sub cable is RG6 double or quad shielded.

I also have a similar problem. I hear a buzzing only from my two fronts. I have Klipsch RF-82s for the two fronts and a Onkyo 606 receiver. I have tried a couple things but I notice when I unplug the hdmi from the cable box the static noise diminishes greatly. I have tried to switch the hdmi cables and the buzzing is still there. Why is the cable box making that buzzing. It is starting to make me mad.

My speaker wire is ran through the attic w/12 or 14 guage wire, and using a subwoofer cable from monster and everything is connected to a power conditioner.

Try connecting your receiver with another pair of speaker wires directly and see if it helps. It may be possible that the wires may be picking up some noise in the attic from power lines.

No, the issue is noise, not sound quality.

check your banana connectors to see if they fit snug... i had that issue with mine... turned the volume up slightly and would hear a noise like your describing... come to find out the banna connectors werent making a firm grip I ended up just soldering the ends of the speaker wire and hooking them in directly

Greetings,
1.Does this noise happen when the system is just powered as well as playing a source?
2.If it is only when playing a source component does it do it with all sources?
3.Does it change with volume adjustment?

I switch the speaker wire and noise is still there. I didnt mention before but I am hooked up through HDMI, switch to another hdmi cord, problem still occurs. Should I just try sending in reciever? I do have warranty but its a hassle unplugging all those wires. The wierd thing is I dont believe I have ever heard the sound while play music. This problem is fustrating me.

alright so I plug my hdmi directly from the ps3 to the tv and noise is still there. So I guess its a ps3 issue and nothing to do with my surround
