any bdp s1 owners lucky enough to have DD TrueHD sound?

Hi everyone! I have Denon avr 3805 which is not equipt with Hdmi and the Sony bdp s1. Everysince ive been using Digital Coax cable until after reading all the threads i finally switched to analog cables and the difference is Phenominal!!! That ofcourse after setting the BD from Auto to PCM, discs with uncompressed pcm audio is really Great!!! I wish i could say thesame with DD TrueHD disc Or maybe im not even getting that truehd sound at all I tried all the settings in my S1 and denon and still nothing seems to work. Does the new upgrade 4.20 really works?
Anyone there with thesame problem, or advice?

Sorry to make this more complicated, but the S1 and S300 do not output lossless on the analog outputs. It seems natural that they would, but they don't. Internally decoded THD can only be output as LPCM over HDMI.

seems as if you got all your equipment at the wrong time. early adopting can be brutal. i know your receiver must have been expensive but have you considered a new one. theyre quite cheap now. and the S1 you can retire to the bedroom and have a cheaper and more up to date bluray player take its spot.

according to this site, the S1 doesnt even decode or bitstream DTSHDMA.
examples:

sony 350 179.00 on BF
and onkyo 606 . 375.

or you could go all out and get the panasonic bd55


just a suggestion. i know its like well crap i dont wana go spent 600 on all that, but you could also ebay your old stuff.

If you have updated the firmware in the BDP-S1 (many versions ago), then you ARE getting Dolby TrueHD. The S1 has been able to decode TrueHD for quite a while now. So, when you set to output PCM (rather than Auto), you're already hearing it.
