Detroit Red Wings place forward Darren McCarty on waivers. That's sad. He has done so much for The Red Wings.

He's done a lot for the team over the years, but unfortunately age is catching up to him and sports is a business.

I don't know a bigger Wings fan than myself. While I appreciate McCarty's contributions and toughness over the years, I can't disagree with this move. Chelios needs to be next.

may i suggest something dark elf? try one sports thread and post all your useless sports talk in there. i dont mind a thread here and there. but this one just plain sucks, sorry.

i have a car thread started..and whenever i have new car news..i post in there. seems to work out fine.

The game has passed DMac by. I loved seeing him play junior here in town, and I loved seeing him in a Flames jersey.

yes please post NHL news there...

also, this isnt the first time he was placed on waivers this year...

he has a 2 way contract... he will be on waivers all season long...
Dan Cleary must be coming back... so McCarty is on waivers if they need to send him down...
