This is such tragic news. My thoughts & prayers are with all the oil producing nations. Their suffering is soooooo unjust. Is there no GOD !

I'm willing to bet by Christmas time it will be back up over 3 a gallon. All it takes is a excuse for them to justify increasing cost's, such as a bunch of pirates in Somalia hijacking a super tanker filled with over 300 million dollars worth of fuel.

Really can some country please just wipe that waste of space Somalia off the map!

Wish gas went down at the gas station as low as it goes low for the barrel. On this issue you Americans are luckier than we Europeans.

It is going to get lower. OPEC is scared to death it going to drop to $25 a barrel. I wouldn't expect significant price appreciation until the global economy picks up again in 12 to 18 months.

What's even better is OPEC HAS cut production twice already to hopefully rebound the prices. But it still is not working, stick it to the man! I love it!

$1.76/gallon here

It only costs $40 to fill up my Tahoe, it was $80 a month ago.

You must be referring to the cost of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Here in my area (Long Island, NY) it still costs me a small fortune to fill the tank of my 2007 Nighthawk Black Pearl Honda Element. But thankfully, the price is lower than the $4.59 peak during the summer. I scoped out $2.17 per gallon on Tuesday. Will we get below-$2 gas this winter? I hope so. It will help offset the rising cost of everything else.
