i believe this is one of the ones i looked at and i went against it mostly due to a few things. contrast ratio isn't that great, 3200:1 dynamic, im not sure what static is, but it didn't look good in that regard. 8ms is a decent response time, however i was told to go 6ms or faster for gaming or you might get a little ghosting with fast high action shots, i play a lot of gt, so that was important. ive got to say, 1080p is very, very nice, i strongly reccomend it. however with 32" its probably not that big of a deal. ive found with tvs you get what you pay for most of the time. i started looking about 3 months ago and made a purchase last month finally, i started out saying no more than a grand and worked my way up to nearly 2k with tax included. i got 0% financing for 12 months at bestbuy and a couple hundred off. good deal.

FYI: I own a 42" LCD, which is 1080p. I can also switch it into 1080i mode, and send 1080i out of my PS3. There is little difference. Very subtle. And that's for gaming. With movies, I notice no difference at all. None. At even smaller -- 32", I can say most certainly that it's not worth bothering over.
In fact, I'm stepping up to a 50" PDP screen, and the 1080p thing was of so little consequence, my new screen will be 1080i. |

Just for the record there is no such thing as interlaced for LCD. LCD is progressive only. Although they can accept an interlaced signal they de-interlace it and dispaly it, or at least the better ones do. The cheap and nasty and eraly models just drop every second pixel and use the raster (1 interlaced frame) which is half the verticle or 1080/2 = 540 so the picture is actually 960x540. This is not inferring that Philips do this, but always check the native resolution as it maybe totally different to what you expect
