I enjoyed the demo but the fact I couldn't make progress through it (with a save) sort of cheapened the experience. Fortunately the value Criterion have been injecting into the game with updates got me interested again, I bought the game for just over half price and now it's one of my favourite PS3 games.

I have to go with NFS over MC. I saw a race demo video of the latest MC: los angeles.
It's a beautiful looking game that has a great SoCal vibe with the recognisable landmarks. The AI seems to be cheap like the last dub edition game. I wouldn't be surprised if in the races that take place, most of us well feel like NOOBS later in the game due to the almost perfect AI racers that will know where to go in the checkpoints while many of us might struggle with the trial & error races. |

I concur with Shin-ra.
Burnout Paradise. Nothing can touch it... yet (meaning neither of these titles look promising enough). I was like you where the demo total didn't do anything for me. But, like Shin-ra, I saw all the content that Criterion was dumping into it for FREE and I gave it another look. By the time I 'clued in' there was an opportunity through a used game sale at Gamestop for me to get it for about $25. I wasn't really playing anything at the time (was a slow period) and a friend of mine got it and loved it and wanted me to play with him... I caved. Best decision I ever made in the life of my PS3. Wow. The demo did nothing for this game. The game itself is simply awesome and with all the new content has probably gotten far more gametime than any other title I own. The truly amazing part that will skew my perception of value in a video game forever? It was only $25 for my most played game. Been watching NFS and MC hoping to see something that could make them this worthy, but just can't see it yet. So, I'm sticking to Burnout. |
