Default HELP (plasma tv)

I stoped playing my ps3 on my plasma only to notice that the part of the game image was burn into the backround. Now I see a bunch of purple dots in the form of past game images (health bars, things that are alway on screen when playing) So my question is will it eventually fade away or will i have to get a new one. Hopefully not. Any help will be very appreciated. Thank you.

Run you're WHITE WASH ! If the tv is new did you break it in first before having prolonged images. It's probably not burn in , It's most likely IMAGE RETENTION

White wash is an option in your picture settings that produces a white screen with bouncing pixels. It usually is recommended to leave this running from 60-90min according to many manuals but usually what I see after you get Image Retention if you have this going for 10 min it USUALLY clears the image and if you switch back to basic cable and let the different colors just do what they do normally and you shouldn't have a problem after that. Also for being 2 months old if it is leaving the image retention on there for a prolonged period of time I would stop running video games on it for a few days, make sure your brightness is below half as well as you are not running vivid or dynamic video mode and just let the tv run on a channel that doesn't constantly have a white logo lingering in the corner. I have noticed with my samsung that now it barely gets any IR, it only seems to be prominent when there is a black background with white text but like I stated it'll go away once different colors cycle through the screen. Hope that helps!

My plasma is about two and a half weeks old, and I still get IR retention quite often. It does always go away however. You should look around on the internet because instead of running the white wash, I have started using the burn-in dvd because it seems to work quicker than whitewash and the whole screen is getting a completely even picture. You can find it if you google Plasma Break-in DVD. Hope this helps.

ok so i used the burn-in dvd and it woks. I just have a few questions is it normal for it to clear up within one fram change to another(I mean on green very noticable then the next one it vanished) So i cleared it up and turn off my tv but after 20 min i turn it back on and there it is. Is that normal for IR?

Yes, IR does go away pretty quickly depending on the color and the brightness of what gets retained. For you to clear up the tv, then turn it off and on and it still be there is awkward. Mine will only be there if I didn't clear the screen before. What kind of plasma are you running?

Not to be rude, but it is an Insignia. I bet it does not have the best anti-IR and burn-in technology. Do not be surprised if this is something that you have to deal with indefinitely.
