Default Full Native vs. Standard?

I have a Mitsubishi LT-52149. When I hit my format button on the remote, it toggles between the different ratios, but I can't tell the difference between "Full Native" and "Standard" while watching a Blu-ray. What is the difference? The user manual nor Google had any good info.

I guess full native would be similar to 1:1 pixel matching and standard would have overscan?

...but I'm just pulling that out of my

You are correct. Full Native is a no overscan (1:1 pixel mapping) format that shows you the whole picture to the raster edges.

Translated to English: You see the whole picture with nothing cut off. If you have Wall-E and go through the calibration pattern, there is one particular ratio pattern that you will see the difference.

If you have full native mode, you want to use it. That way the TV doesn't have to scale the source input to it's display resolution and then again to fit that format choice. Full Native gives you perfect pixel mapping for the best resolution you can get.
