In starting this thread, I'm assuming that most people that are cruising this site used to be big into DVDs as well. Is anyone sort of enjoying that joy of anticipation again? I remember "back in the day" of DVD when everyone was craving/aching/crying for the Big Releases. Things like Jurassic Park, Star Wars, etc were the holy grails of DVD releases. When they came out, we had to find the next Big Release to look forward to. But a couple of years ago, we were reduced to looking forward to that summer's big movie, because the Big Releases were all out there already. Sure we got Special Edition re-releases and Superbits and such - but we had them.
Now we have that delicious anticipation again - but in blu! Sure I'd love to have LOTR or Star Wars on BR, but I'm also sort of enjoying the anticipation and speculation of when they'll come out! Anyone also enjoying it? Or do you just want them all now? There are plenty of threads listing our dream releases, but I thought it'd be fun to see if anyone's enjoying the thrill of the chase... |

once a release date is announced, i start to get excited, i'm freaking out waiting for the dark knight. until the date is given, i don't really pay attn. to much, case in point: Jurassic Park, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings.
until a firm date is given/confirmed, i won't lose any sleep over these b/c i've got the standard dvd @ home. |

I am less excited now than I was back when DVD was the new high tech thing.
Don't get me wrong I like Bluray but I don't go as far as I used to. Probably cause as one ages, one learns to be more self-controlled emotionally. |

Yeah, I'm interested in seeing how things will play out. I'm looking forward also to the blu-ray releases that will really push the technology to its edges in terms of capability. It was exciting when that started happening on DVD and it will be even more so in this format.
That said, I'm impatient for some of those favorite titles. ![]() |
