Question "Wanted": What would it have been like...

If Heath Ledger was cast in the leading role of Wesley Gibson instead of James McAvoy? Granted, McAvoy did an excellent job in the role. And I'm not taking away the fact that Heath is no longer with us. One day, I was watching Heath in Monster's Ball and I thought to myself as to what it would have been like if Heath had taken on the kick-ass role of the former cube-dweller/now-professional assassin in "Wanted".

But I guess we'll never know.

I'm not to sure. I'd never really thought of Heath as an action star. But he would've probably pulled it off marvelously.

If Heath wasnt considered, this thread is worthless. I mean, Heath is a good actor, but not great. He was great in TDK, but not great in any other movies

MAYBE Heath Ledger could pull off "pathetic" but I doubt it. McAvoy truly brought pathetic into the limelight early on. I think that is what really made the movie shine, because he goes from pathetic, to pathetic-killer, to badass assassin. Can't wait to watch the new BD that was only $20+tax.

Really? So he wasn't good in A Knight's Tale, 10 Things, Lords of Dogtown, or The Patriot?

Heath is a phenomenal actor who is better than most of those pieces of garbage. Heath actual got into character, while other actors only care about half-assing their role and getting money for it...Heath was Patrick Verona, Sir William Thatcher, Skip Engblom, and The Joker.

Heath wouldn't have taken this roll. He beleived in a quality script and characters. This had neither. This movie is, in a single word, Garbage. Heath Ledger was to good of an actor and a person to take a role like this.

I read the grapgic novel and not everyone wore costumes. And I don't think it would have been great if they didn't change it the way they did. Sometimes change is good. Besides....Eminiem? Seriously?!

heath is at best an ok actor. he has one terrific role, which was the joker. the rest were really only marginal at best. he's just not that great. way overhyped. way, way overhyped.

heath wasn't that good an actor and this movie wasn't garbage. i thoroughly enjoyed and in ways more than the dark knight. i have forgotten about it, but having seen commercials for the blu-ray i have been reminded of how great wanted was. it will definitely be in my top 5. i thought it was fantastic and also one of the best comic book movies made.

IMO, Wanted was far more entertaining than TDK and was easily my favorite movie of the year. TDK was a good movie, but if it wasn't for the Joker and the IMAX sequences, I don't think I would have liked it too much.

Seriously?? The guy was a drug addict and was so thoughtful that he didn't even include his own daughter in his will.

He was good in 8 mile, it would have worked. I wanted Super powers in the movie basically. We got heightened levels of adrenaline.

Wanted was thought less trash and The Dark Knight was a well thought out, Oscar worthy movie. Heath was golden in the movie and the IMAX scenes were and still are amazing. Heath Ledger was not a drug addict. A addict is somebody who is having the drug regularly for a long period of time. He had drugs on a few occasions, not all the time. His daughter was not in his will because he haden't updated it since she was born. That is just one more reason why his death was not a suicide because he was always seen smiling and having fun with his daughter. He loved her more then anything in the world and if he was planning on killing himself (which he wasn't) he would have updated his will to include her in it. Heath is an amazing actor and his preformence in The Dark Knight is just another example of his talent. He would not have been a part of Wanted because pointless blood and gore is not his style. He and a lot of actors are above a movie like Wanted. Morgan Freemon is one of them which is why I think he was stupid for being in this movie. In conclusion, this movie is not worth my time and is garbage. The Dark Knight is a work of art from every stand point.

Really? I mean....I had an arguement about Ledger earlier. He died, and now everyone thinks he was this great actor. People at my work were trying to say that Ledger is a bigger draw than Bale in the theaters(they beleived this even before he died), where as I dont think I knew that his name was Heath Ledger before he died. I had seen his movies....but I honestly don't think I cared enough to find out his name. On to this thread....It wouldnt have been any better? Ledger wouldnt have added anything. Aaaaanything. Thats like saying Biggie or 2Pac would make rock music better today. Same profession, wrong genre of film...

PS....I dont even like Rap....

Heath Ledger wasn't that great of an actor. I am sorry....yes he died....tragic things....Kids....dont do drugs...but seriously, he wasn't that great of an actor. I wish, prior to TDK, I had started a thread about him. If I had a poll....here is how it would turn out:

He was great in "10 things I Hate About You", but I know nothing else about the guy......30%
I actually had to google who the F he is.....42%
I really like him, Monster's Ball was great.....4%
Don't know....so I don't care....24%
