![]() I'm disappointed with the specs on this and screenshots. Most of the HD collections are moving towards 1080p now and the anti-aliasing in the full-res 720p pics doesn't look all that effective. The shadow under James in the first shot possibly even looks worse than what's in the PS2 version. It was "announced" in Konami's pre-recorded E3 "press conference". All the details here are straight from a Konami press release yesterday. |

(the grain effect is missing, but you still get the idea) The game wouldn't benefit much from running at 60fps so 30fps, 4xMSAA or a high quality post-process AA and anisotropic filtering should be easily possible. Last edited by Shin-Ra; 07-22-2011 at 07:15 PM. |

Since Team Silent disbanded? Yeah, although I'd say Homecoming is pretty good. I also wouldn't put off Downpour too quickly, but it's true that Silent Hill hasn't been the same since the days of Team Silent.

This'll be nice for those, especially myself, who've never really played a Silent Hill game and preferance for starting at earliest point in the series. Why isn't there an HD remake for 1 though? I'm attempting to avoid all spoilers and since I'll be buying a hardware backwards compatible PS3 later in the year or 2012, I could possibly still buy the Silent Hill titles which are for PS2.
Better late then never, correct? Very very late in my case. |

Those screenshots - remember the game had that noise filter. When you finished the game and could remove the noise filter, it didn't look as good. Those screenshots are without the noise filter.
I think they have done a reasonable job with the antialiasing, but it all looks too... clean. I've had mine on order for at least a month from the UK. GBP17.85 at Zavvi - about $25. I don't understand why they couldn't go all the way to 1080 though. It isn't like the PS3 couldn't easily handle it for this type of game. Last edited by Mobe1969; 07-23-2011 at 10:54 PM. |
