audio issues on Sony 350

i just bought this sony blu ray and i must admit it is awesome. however, on two separate movies, the sound just stopped while the movie continued. once i stopped the movie and hit play again, the sound came back on. is there something i am doing wrong or do you think my player is defective? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I would take it back, And I hate taking stuff back. I have kept my box for my Panasonic 35 for a week now, but everything is perfect, I am gonna toss it now.

Back on topic. I have never experienced what the OP is mentioning, the only time when audio stops for a fraction, is when I switch between different audio tracks. Something normal.
Perhaps the problem is something related to the audio receiver, Audio setup, HDMI cable (perhaps he/she is using optical or coaxial, analog?), those particular discs, the change of layer, does it happens often? We'll need more info.

You might want to check the firmware that it originally came with.Should be V010 or as Octo stated check you audio settings.
