Does anyone know if there are plans to release the Lord of the Rings on Blu-ray and if so when? Having just purchased a HDTV and a Blu-ray player, this is one movie that I would like to have.

The short quick answer is yes. Early 2009 I believe. If you go to the movie section and do a search it should come up for you.

this thread has been posted oh so many times, but he's a new member you can cut him some slack. for future reference do a search before starting a new thread. or look at any release calendar listed on dvd/bluray websites. if it isn't on there, it most likely hasn't been announced yet.
