Default Programming Class?!

I'm going to enroll for a few college classes tomorrow, and there's a programming class I want to take.

Quote:
Computer Science 1313 Programming I
This course is designed as a study of structured programming techniques. The course will include fundamental control
structures, files, input and output, and end with the study of array. Outside computer practice required.
Prerequisite: Computer Science 1303 or equivalent.
I haven't had the prerequisite, but I can take a test over it (which is very basic) and if I pass I can get into the programming class.

The language they use is Visual Basic, and I've never used that, hell I've never even programmed on Windows. I'm familiar with C, C++, and Objective-C in Xcode (osx).

Should I take it? I'm confused!
