X-Men 3 BD - Blu-ray Forum

I'm about to buy a copy of X-Men: The Last Stand on BD (tomorrow - Tuesday 12/2) at BB's (good sale).
I know that the first two X-Men films will be out on BD in 2009, so I'm wondering if Fox will, in any way, re-master "The Last Stand" -- in other words, am I safe to buy the current copy of "The Last Stand" without some double dip going on?

there will most likely be a double dip. If I recall it has no extras, so the box set will probably have a better copy. If your into extras that is.

I'd wait if I were you.

The U.S. DVD and Blu-Ray are not the full-loaded Special Edition that was released in every other region on DVD. When the movie came out on DVD, the other regions got 2-Disc Special Editions. The U.S. only got a 1 Disc Edition. I'm hoping for a SE of all three on Blu-Ray for X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

No we didnt... We have a two or three disk edition. I saw it yesterday at BB...

Check again. X-Men 3 only got a 1-Disc release in the U.S.

yes, the bluray was only 1 disc for x3. i think there were some extras on it though but they were sparse.

Yes, the same shoddy extras from the US DVD release which was also one disc.

The UK's release for X3 had a great deal more features than was on the US DVD.

And there was the collector's edition... which is the exact same disc as what you're talking about, but with a 96 page book.

So in the US all there was, was 2 commentaries and some deleted scenes.

Exactly. Which is what I'm getting at. We got screwed in the U.S. on the release.

Which is why I'm hoping we get a fully blown SE of X-Men 3 when the others come on Blu-Ray.

The book in the Collector's Edition was fantastic though. A new X-Men Stan Lee comic. Keen.

I'm really hoping that the X-flicks come out separately. As a mere personal preference, I really didn't enjoy the X3 in comparison to the first two films, which I thought were fantastic.

Yeah. Fox said they were waiting on releasing the 2-Disc here until there was an X4.

Lame ass excuse in my opinion. Especially when everyone else got the release now.

I actually enjoyed X3.

While it wasn't nearly as good as X2, I thought it was a decent chapter in the trilogy.

Plus they finally got around to my favorite character. Who was supposed to be in since X1.

It's the Collector's Edition. It comes with the regular 1-Disc DVD and a 96 Page Book.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. So do we have any news at all regarding a release date for a Blu-Ray X-Trilogy, besides "2009?"

So true. Beast was definitely well done. Kelsey Grammar (sp?) was fantastic casting call. Though Cyclops dying offscreen? They couldn't bother to film something?

What is funny is... I was against Kelsey as Beast from the start. Not a huge fan of him.

When I saw the film, he really nailed the character. I'm actually glad he proved me wrong.

Also glad that they went with the 'Apeman' look. Over the fugly arse 'Cat' look he has now.

I think the idea of killing Scott off camera was so they had an out, if they wanted to bring him back in X4. Just introduce Mr. Sinister who recovered Scott and if necessary cloned Jean. Easy peasy.

If X4 ever happens, I vote on losing Storm as a main character. If Halle Berry puts up a fuss, as was rumored during X3, they should just write her out of the script. In the meantime, I look forward to Origins: Wolverine and whoever else they decide on (is Magneto confirmed yet?).
