Default Microsoft really backs HD-DVD well

I'm just glad I didn't buy the add-on drive. I wonder how The Good Shephard will fare.

Issues are inevitable with any new format. BD has its fair share too.

Yea, I just wonder if some new tech that they're using could be a problem. With this being the first release of HD-DVD since February, I just wonder if Universal has tried something new and it's hit a snag. Hopefully, for people w/ the add-on, this is a simple software glitch that just needs a patch. I remember having to get a regular Xbox replaced because, starting w/ Ghost Recon, it couldn't read new games.

the problem is that this disc is the first big release in a long time and a lot of systems are having issues. it's the kind of thing to drive people away from a format.

no problems with CR on the sammy or ps3 for me.

Blu ray rocks.I got my Ps3 and have 6movies so far (Blu ray obv) and they all work just fine.

Lets hope Hd Dvd keeps up the good work and gets sidelined sooner

It doesn't help, that's for sure.

I am not especially surprised.

after all they have to ensure that discs are compatible over the whole range of drive makers from Toshiba through Toshiba!

Let's face it, they have yet to make a player that works well under most circumstances.

My Panasonic BD player has worked very nicely since day one. I loathe to even power up the A1 these days...

Here's an enlightening thread on current HD DVD playback problems which makes my very occasional PS3 pauses pale in comparison.

Many issues with multiple titles/multiple players in HD DVD-land...

I have over 110 BDs, and two players, Samsung BD-P1000 and 20gb PS3. I've had my Sammy since July and my PS3 since launch. I've never had a problem playing any disc in either one of my players.

I wondered if The Good Shephard would have the same playback problems as Children of Men. This is only about two players, but after last week, it doesn't seem too promising for the add-on.

Agreed, I've yet to have one hiccup with my PS3. Truth be told, I've not had any issues with my A1 either <knocks on wood>, but it's so damn slow to boot up and start a movie. Price we pay for being early adopters I guess.
