Default "Cera on Board for Arrested Movie" Tambor Says

Story from IGN:

Quote:
Tambor told The New York Daily News, "If I have to call him up and say, 'Get on set right now, young man,' he'll be there." Tambor, who played Cera's incarcerated grandfather on the short-lived but beloved Fox series, added, "The movie is going to happen this year, and Michael Cera is on board. Trust me."

Fox Searchlight is hooking up with series creator Mitchell Hurwitz to bring it back on the screen. IGN cornered Hurwitz at a recent industry event and he confirmed, "I'm really optimistic. We're getting close." Most of the show's cast has expressed interest in returning, with the lone holdout being Michael Cera, whose young movie career took off after his roles in Juno and Superbad. When asked at that time about the status of securing Cera, Hurwitz said, "I hope [he will sign on]. I hope so. It's a big priority."
I honestly think if this movie doesn't come out sooner rather than later it may start to lose some of its appeal. Hopefully there will be an official confirmation soon...

Great news! As the OP originally stated, I really hope this gets made sooner than later.

Bob Loblaw Lobs Law Bomb

If Cera says no I hope they do it anyway. As much as he's a huge part of it I'd hate to miss out on it for one person who I guess just doesn't want to do it.

He better do it though. I honestly would lose respect for him if he doesn't.

I believe that Cera has pretty much been type cast in to a "George Michael-esque" role in almost anything he's been involved in. It would make no sense for him to make a stand now.

I actively read Bob Loblaw's Law Blog...

I would loss complete respect for him also. This series is what made him. Iu hope this is offically announced soon so they can get on with it. And they'll make it even with out him.

unfortunately hurtwitz wont start the script until he knows ALL the cast are on board, including cera. if cera decides not to do it, it's a no go.

also, i completely side with everyone that says this show made cera and he should pay homage to that, but i also can understand that he wants to move on with his life and do other things. believe me i want this movie to happen as much as everyone else, but i get that arrested took place in an earlier stage in his life and he's potentially trying to break away from that now. yeh he's doing a lot of roles similar to george michael but that doesn't mean he still has to be george michael.

As he gets older his carreer will slow down. His only ofer to cinema is that of the George Michael type character. And I thought that they would do the movie with or with out him but the writers just need to know whether he's in or out so they can get the script going? Anyone on this site hear anything about Hurwitzes new show "Sit down, Shut Up"? Looks pretty good to me. Airs on April 19th.
