Default 110" Screen!

So my in-laws are going all the way with this Blu thing, after pestering them to come to the "blu" side. They are now gonna finish the basement. The home theatre guy came over today and they are going with a 110 inch progection TV!!!
Is projection TV good for Blu? Is it as sharp as an LCD or Plasma?

Let me guess, it keeps the mosquitoes out during the summer.

Projection TV? I wouldn't encourage a tv that big. Surely your money is better spent on a projector in a basement that has little light coming in.

You can change it yourself.
Personally I think that is way too big for current Plasma, LCD or projection TV's technology, the screen is way too heavy and sucks up way too much energy. I might be interested in a super huge screen later on when OLED and other such much lighter much less energy consuming technologies are available.

I have a 106" FP screen, and it looks FANTASTIC...... you can't judge them based on a crappy Best-Buy Magnolia set-up either..... you really have to see one in action, in complete darkness, to appreciate what they're capable of.

You should post some pictures up in your gallery (so should I, but I'm lazy )

with the right projector and screen - and i'd highly recommend a blu ray player over an upconverting DVD player - you'll find the picture is incredible
