Default horror buffs, I'm looking for some recommendations

Hi all, just looking for some horror movie recommendations. I don't usually watch horror because, to me, it seems to be the same movie over and over again. I'm kinda picky, but I do like em. Here are some horror/horror-type movies that I actually did like and a few thoughts on them. The first 6 I liked enough to buy them

The Hills Have Eyes (2006)
The Excorcism of Emily Rose
Event Horizon
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
30 Days of Night
Alien and Aliens - i love the whole series
High Tension - saw it a long time ago, from what i remember it was pretty good
The Descent - pretty good, but the creatures bugged me. the first scene that you see one of the creatures, it moves crazy fast and it actually looked like a scary opponent for the humans to try to fight off. every scene after that, the creatures moved pretty slow and it made it almost easy for the humans to fight them... sorry, just being picky
Scream - was actually pretty decent, but failed towards the end
Texas Chainsaw Massacre's - (New ones) i thought they were pretty good
I Know What You Did Last Summer movies, haven't seen them since they came out in the theatres but from what i remember they were ok. or maybe i just love Jennifer Love Hewitt, lol

And I've seen a few of the classics such as Friday The 13th, The Exorcist, Carrie and Halloween and I liked them. I kinda liked the new Halloween, but I thought it was laughable in some spots.

Anyways, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations from the experts here. Thanks so much in advance!

BTW, "The Unborn" coming out next year looks pretty good

edit: I'm not really interested in movies like The Ring, The Grudge, Ghost Ship, etc. Too "high school"

Do you mind subtitles? If not, that greatly improves the field. Just a few:

Ils(Them)
The Eye(original)
Shutter(original)
Ringu
Ju-On
Darkwater(original)
Pulse(original)
A Tale Of Two Sisters
[REC]

Yes the Japanese have mastered the art of the creepy visual. I didn't think these movies had got to me until about a year after I watched them I heard a squirrel or something in the attic in the middle of the night and had to poke my head up through the access to see...

I'd recommend some stuff previously recommended plus the movies "A nightmare on Elm Street". Though I must have become biased ever since I met Robert Englund at a festival

Inside
Martyrs(comes to dvd/blu next year)

Horror goes through movements. Right now the big thing is French and those are both French.

Inside will twist your mind.

The last good horror movies I saw were The Descent and .rec

I'm more a fan of the psychological, creepy kind of horror movies that don't rely on gore to "scare" you...not a big fan of the horror genre in general, though I've been getting back into it more recently. Are you looking for movies on blu-ray only?
Some that I would recommend:
The Orphanage
The Others
28 days later
1408
Psycho (the original, but not on blu-ray)
Dawn of the Dead original

And you really didn't like The Ring? It's been a while since I watched it, but I thought that sh*t was scary!!

Altho I didn't find it to be a Horror movie, I blind-bought Re-cycle and enjoyed it quite a bit. The first half is like your usual asian ghost movies and the second half was like Dawn of the Dead meets the Neverending Story, hahaha.
