One master thread for The Dark Knight Blu-ray discussion - Blu-ray Forum

Seriously, there are way too many unnecessary threads on the subject. How about just making 1 master thread where all discussions on the movie go in them? Some of them don't even belong in the Blu-Ray Movies and Releases discussion forum.

I wholeheartedly agree it's ridiculous that every time somebody has even a slight thought about TDK bam, three new threads open up for that one thought.

Think it needs to at least be split into 2. Does somebody really want to read 1000 posts we they first start reading them?

Not sure what that meant, but there are page numbers on threads so you can skip ahead.

And I actually recommended this a while back. It is soooooo stupid that Dark Knight threads keep popping up and not a single mod is doing anything about it.

Yes true they're a lot. but for somebody new here and is curious about the movie, they're going to read 50 pages? But just about 90% of people have seen it so.... whatever happens happens. not my site. All I know is this. People better not get pissed if somebody asks a question on there when it was asked 300 posts ago.

Well with one thread, it'd be easier to search actually. I don't care if someone asks the same question a bunch of times, I care if the same thread keeps getting created over and over.

I'll admit i was a little sick of the 20 threads about TDK.

Is there only 20? I thought there was way more than that... there for a while people were creating 3-5 a day.

EDIT: lol, way more than 20. I got up to 50 and quit counting when I searched for Dark Knight. I am sure if you search TDK, you'd probably get even more.

DO YOU actually use "SEARCH"?

If all DK discussion in 1 page, which may contain 100 different ideas/questions/thoughts, if you type in "dark knight movie gross", for example,

yes, it takes you to that thread, which has what? 50 pages?, then you spend an hour on a simple search "DK gross" that is listed in page 38... or soemthing.

OR, would you prefer going through ONE page of search page and find that the thread of "Dark knight gross exceeds $1 billion", and maybe you will find it 20th or 30th thread down.. heck.. I'd rather spend 1 minute skimming through that 1 seach page instead of 1 hour reading through entire 100 pages thread that contains 100 different topics.

No, I have never used the search function in the 2 years I've been here. Which is why I keep posting the same threads as everyone else.

But I do know an obvious solution if you want to know the gross. Search anywhere else. Yahoo, IMDB, where ever you want. If you can't find the gross, you are doing something way wrong.

Yeah, that should actually be moved to the Movie and TV Discussion forum. A master discussion thread should be made in that forum as well for discussion about the actual movie.

I apologize for the directness.

I guess it was just an explosion of all the people being rude (not you), saying "USE SEARCH".. if I were in those people shoe, (well not all) a lot of people do use search and they dont find anything, not without spending 30 min reading posts that are not relevant.

the gross was just an example. Besides, almost EVERYTHING can be found on google. The point of search here is not to find "gross" number, but to find and participate in the discuss of TDK "Gross". Know what I mean? The same goes for any topic you want to find and participate.

I guess it does get annoying when everything just talks about "similar" topics.

However, I do think that this is an Open and free forum. For that particular member, he just wants to engage to other posters and discuss how many people, like him, have seen the movie 2, 3, or 4 times..

I mean... nothing is pointless.... right? else, we'll all be at harvard/MIT educational forum or something.

I agree the forum should be moderated and the line is blurry as to how strict?

I agree there should almost be a sticky in more than one spot for it.

As for the punishment issue, I didn't mean like ban the person. But maybe send them a warning, and if it continues after multiple warnings, then suspend them.
