Sometime back, I installed firmware upgrade 1.6 for my Panasonic BD-30. I have not had problems playing any BD disk. There are some SD disks which I can't access some of the menus but thats it in terms of any issues. I notice that the firmware upgrades are now up to 2.5. A couple of questions. First, do I even need to upgrade given that I have no play or stability issues with my player? Secondly, if I do upgrade, does the 2.5 upgrade include all the upgrades from 1.6 to 2.5? In other words, I assume that I do not have to install each upgrade up to and including 2.5? Thanks.

FW are not like patches for computer OS. There are basically a ROM Flash. Each time it's whole 30-100meg (depending on the player) you download even if the patch in it is only a couple of bytes. They do this because it's easier do to at this size...
