Default Sin City 2: Potentially Filming in April '09

IGN UK interviewed Frank Miller, who stated:

Quote:
"Sin City 2 is written," he told the site. "It's mainly a matter of working out the details of the production. I'm hoping to do it with Robert Rodriguez again in the same circumstances that we did the first one, and we could be shooting as soon as April."
can't wait for this to eventually come out.

Anyways, that is great news. The first Sin City is excellent and I'm sure the sequel will be just as good.

Last week I picked up Sin City on blu from amazon.ca. Watched it with my son last night and HOLY SNIKIES... Damn near a perfect movie. I hope RR directs the next one. Didn't have any problems with the disk from Canada playing on my Sony 350.

As for Sin City 2, could not care less actualy if it's ever done or not. The first one was was so boring anyway. The only good thing in it was Clive Owen, the rest was a ZZZzzzZZZ festival

I admit the style and the cinematography (did I wrote this right?) was great but the movie itself was so boring too me. Everyone I know love it too death however so you are not the only one.

I actually felt that the clive owen story line was the least interesting of the three, but still very good.

I agree. I liked the Clive Owen story a lot, but the Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke ones simply surpass it. Marv is the man!

As for Sin City 2, it has officially entered "I'll believe it when I see it" status for me. Here's hoping this story proves to be true. Sin City owned me.

This is one of those movies they should have just left at 1 installment. there is no conceivable way that the sequel will generate even half of the good reviews the first one did.

It's just like the Matrix....should have stopped at one.

I don't agree at all. There are quite a few Sin City graphic novels and stories. For the movie, they made an anthology out of 3 of them (4 if you count the Josh Hartnet part). There's absolutely no reason not to continue an anthology series with many more stories to adapt as long as it's lucrative.

I disagree here as well. The Matrix was clearly designed to setup the world for future stories. It's a chapter 1 story. Obviously you disliked how the sequels turned out, and that's fine. But the story wasn't finished at the end of part one. It would have felt like a serial TV show getting canceled with no finale had they not made sequels.

The original intent was to film parts 2 and 3 at the same time, but obviously all that fell through when the movie wasn't green-lite. I'm glad to see that it will finally happen (with director intact) and I hope its just as good as the first.

Yeah, The Spirit has no direct relation to Sin City at all. The Spirit as a comic character pre-dates Sin City by half a century (The Spirit debuted in 1940, Sin City debuted in 1991). Now, the movie version of The Spirit was written and directed by Frank Miller, the creater and co-director of Sin City. That may explain your confusion. He gave it a similar visual style.
