My votes goes to DeNiro for a greater body of work and for his versatility as an actor. But I love Pacino too.

Its hard for me to choose, they both have amazing movies and amazing roles but I always lean towards Pacino...probably because of Michael Corleone

Sheesh, another Sophie's Choice. How can I choose between these two great actors??? I just loved Pacino in the Godfather movies and Scarface. But I enjoyed Deniro's body of work more so I have to go with Deniro. Below are my favorite films for each actor:

For me it's DeNiro. He has a more well - rounded acting persona IMO.

both are legends-- both have also not done much good work in this
current decade...

Pacino has more "favorite" performances for me but he also is more
inconsistant with his acting methods (ie-- overacts at times)

De Niro has a more consistant record-- lots of great performances (loved
his attempts at comedy in ANALYZE THIS and MEET THE FOCKERS) and
seems to be always reliable for a good performance at the very least.

so I'll give it to De Niro by a hair!

Watched "Righteous Kill" with them both last night for the first time. Great movie with great twist ending. Can't say either out performed the other.

I find De Niro to be the better method actor. He can be totally chameleon-like and change from one role to another in a way Pacino cannot. Plus, De Niro's collaborations with Scorsese are on another level beyond anything Pacino did, even in Godfather.

You forgot to include one of these De Niro films, King of Comedy, on your list. This was essentially Scorsese's remake of "Taxi Driver" but with a lighter touch.

You also left off Awakenings and other classic titles from the OP.
