God of War III Gameplay Trailer Confirmed for VGA 08
Gamers were astounded when it was announced that God of War III would make an appearance at this year’s VGA. However, the excitement were short live when gamers around the world were unsure whether the trailer would comprise of CG or gameplay footage. Well, It’s time to put that concern to rest. Geoff Keighley have confirmed on his personal blog that the trailer being shown at this year’s VGA would indeed comprise of gameplay footage.

"Kratos soon arrives on the PlayStation 3 and only the VGAs will bring you the first-ever glimpse at this game. And let me put all you skeptics to rest right now. I’m happy to confirm you’ll be seeing real-time gameplay footage."

Here's some great news! I'm sure a lot of you are excited to see the God of War III footage that was promised to be revealed during Spike TV's VGA event (December 14, woohoo!). And if you remember from a few weeks back, some people were shown GoW3, and they were pretty impressed.

One of which was David Jaffe: he said the game looks like a painting come to life. And before that, when some info was leaked from a Sony staff meeting in London, the source mentioned that they were shown GoW3 as well, and none of them could tell if it was CGI or not.

Well, we're not sure if VGA's footage will be the same as those shown to Jaffe and the Sony staff, but do hear this: Geoff Keighley of Spike TV has confirmed that the God of War III footage to hit VGA will most definitely be real-time graphics!

Woot! Here's hoping we all get to see the video online as soon as it gets shown during the event! For now, we'll be leaving you with this piece of magnificent GoW3 footage - the one from E3 2008. I wonder though... was this in real-time too?

with all the games from 1st and 2nd party studios for the PS3 with these types of graphics and good game play , with some good story telling here and there its looking to be a great year for the ps3 in 2009. i looked through GG 2007 PDF for those that have not seen it i will provide the link:

i thinks its one of the best things Sony has been doing , putting more support in 1st and 2nd party. with results they are getting now. with tweaking for future releases its going to be very fun cycle for the playstation 3.

with it being only 2 years in and the results after 4 years building their Engine , GG i think has a winner with the Killzone 2 beta getting raves right now. and the first 2 God of War's on the PS2 was fun i Have no doubt the God of War 3 would be good, its only How good i am excited to find out.

I hope he doesn't mean that they're going to use cell-shading... Not that I don't like the cell shaded look, but I don't think it will look good with GoW III.

i mean making the events crazy and ridiculous and kratos over acting

that's all , i remmber some ps3 execlusive game was over-hyped this year and ended up having over top cutscenes and uninteresting long dialogs wich made me hate that game

Damn I can't wait, 2009 is going to be a good year. Bionic Commando, Resident Evil 5, GOW3!! And I seriously hope that they decide to make Aliens: Colonial Marines.

What is this ps3 exclusive you talk about?

If it's MGS4, then the long dialogue and cutscenes is just Kojima's style.
That has nothing to do with hype what so ever.

Anyway, I'm sure GOW3 will follow the path of 1 & 2. If not improve on it.
