Default So I made a bet...

At work today an associate kept going on about Hulk on BD and to sum it all up he basically said it would be the shiznit and one of the best blu-rays by far. I will definitely agree that this blu-ray will be amazing, but then he said the dark knight on blu-ray wouldn't look as good at all considering how the movie had so many dark scenes and may not even be a good BD. Preposterous I say!

I made this bet with him...Whichever BD gets a higher rating on this site wins the bet. The losing person (with the lower rated BD) buys the winning bet BD for the winner. I obviously choose TDK! Shortly after the bet was made the review for the Hulk came out. It recieved a 4.5 which is an incredible score.

I'm really hoping TDK receives an outstanding possibly perfect score. Do you think I'll win??

As good of a movie as TIH is, TDK will probably get 4.8 or higher. the 6 min opening scene on the Batman Begins disc is phenominal and 100x better than theatre quality. TIH was also a phenominal theatre release for me, but I think TDK will look better for sure, but I am not sure about sound as TIH has the loud hulk roaring and gunshots throughout. But I personally predict a shiny new copy of TDK for you. Make him buy it from a retail store, just to rub it in that much more lol

Worst case scenario you're looking at a wash. I think you'll win for sure though. Just look at some of the titles that have gotten a perfect 5.0 on this site and compare them to The Dark Knight. I know we haven't seen the PQ or heard the AQ yet, but rest assured Warner Bros. did it right with this title.

I would be very surprised if TDK didn't win this one for you. I don't see Warner skimping any on this title considering the juggernaut it was in the box office. Even the slightest mistake could cause a massive backlash and cut their profits in half as people wait for a "corrected" version of it.

Is your friend ... how do i say this nicely ... special ???
I don't think it's very nice of you to make bets with mentally challenged people, it just makes you look like a person who takes advantage of those less fortunate.
Now if you truely are his friend you would stop him from making any futher such bets.
I don't think whoever has hired him would be happy in knowing he is throwing away what little money he makes on bets that he has no chance of winning!
When they hire people such as your friend they are trying to give the ... less fortunate a fair shot at a normal life so i would recommend that you don't tell anyone else of this so called bet for if you do you will only look like a bully.
P.S. Maybe you could take him to the goodwill or salvation army and get him some clothes, im sure he probably needs some if making bets like this is in his history.

WB isn't stupid enough to let The Dark Knight not have the best possible release that it can have, so I think you bet on the right one.

if WB screws up TDK blu-ray there will be hell to pay because after all it is their biggest release of this whole year and any slight problem with the disc or even just a crappy encoded disc people are going to be so pissed about it that warner will get a lot of complaints

movie score should be higher for TDK but with the reviews being so good of the Hulks picture and sound quality i'd say TDK wont beat it by much... that being said - i can see TDK getting 5's all the way down the board..

Did not The Dark Knight gross about ONE BILLION dollars? For them to cheese out this release would induce a wave of "we are incompetent" and disenfranchise the entire blu-ray consumer base.

The Dark Knight is the ONLY movie I gave a 5 star rating where I have not reconsidered and later changed the rating. Not to say I give 5 star ratings lightly. TDk was the single most awe inspired movie I have seen in my life. I'm not even a die-hard fan, just a childhood fan.

Unfortunately I'm not allowed to say or else I could be fired due to improper representation of their company.
