Default Looks like the Logitech "PS3" keyboard is out...

I noticed circuitcity.com is showing the logitech cordless mediaboard (previously mentioned as "PS3 certified" or something like that") as being in stock. anyone try it yet? Or does anyone know of a dedicated Sony PS3 bluetooth/all-in-one/keyboard w-scrollpad/trackball model in the pipeline that is worth waiting for?

Yea, it's usb to 2.4Ghz wireless. No bluetooth. I don't know about all-in-one's w/a touchpad, but i know there are plenty of bluetooth keyboards/mice out there.

...not sure if I care if it's BT or 2.4 GHz, wireless is important, tho. for a newb, why would BT be considered better when considering wireless keyboards? one thing for me is that BT seems to be more expensive.
PS I've never liked touchpads for cursor control, I've always preferred trackballs.

If you want a good mouse; get the Targus Bluetooth Laser mouse. Works perfectly!

...I probably should also emphasize, I would really prefer an all-in-one keyboard/mouse (keyboard w/ trackball/pad in one piece). my living room is already cluttered w/ remotes (soon to be one more, as I'm picking up the PS3 remote for movies - the game controller is annoying!)!

I always would have agreed that game contollers are annoying, but the whole wireless controller for the ps3 is great. I know you cant use it with one hand, but hey.. atleast theres no wires.

It shouldn't be an issue given that the latest PS3 firmware natively supports BT keyboards and mice.

IMO, my wireless Logitech USB keyboard and mouse combo works pretty darn good. The only real advantage I could see in switching to a BT keyboard and mouse is freeing up a USB port. Even then I wouldn't switch until Sony adds PS3 BT support code into the next Linux kernel.

The Biggest advantage in Bluetooth over the USB wireless controllers, remotes, and now keyboards, is the no need for line of sight. By this I mean you do not need a direct line of sight from your bluetooth device to your PS3.

Your ps3 can be under a table, in a box, and your keyboard could be pointing away from the TV, and it would still work correctley without a hickup.

DEznuts.

And this is a big deal. thats was my biggest proble with a wireless optical mouse. The futher you get a way...the less functionality you get.

Aren't the "2.4 GHz" (or "RF" - same thing, right?) NOT limited by line-of-sight? I know you need unobstructed view for infrared but I would think both BT and RF can transmit through stuff.

My wireless USB keyboard and mouse work great and don't have any of the line of sight issues mentioned above.

I may hold on of buying this. I would really like to see a keyboard with playstation buttons on it somehow. I don't see a huge need for a keyboard until Home comes out.

- true, if my experience w/ City of Heroes (and Villians) was any indication of what one would run into @ Home, a wireless KB will be indispensable.
which brings me to a thought I just thought...how freakin' sweet (at least for those who played it) would it be to be able to play COH or COV on PS3 w/ all the PC gamers at the same time?
