I just swapped out the DVD-RW in my HP dv9000cto laptop with a Blu-Ray reader/DVD-RW unit made for this PC. (MATSHITA BD-CMB UJ-120 ATA Device)
I downloaded the latest QuickPlay (version 3.7 - is that the latest?) and popped in the Police Certifiable BD disc to test the setup. The disc played fine and all, but the PQ was not what I expected. When I play this disc on my desktop, the video is crystal clear, while on this laptop, it looks more like standard DVD quality. It's good, but I'm not blown away. Is this a function of the QuickPlay not having the same PQ ability as PowerDVD, or is it just that the laptop (I have the BrightView Display) display is not as good as my desktop Viewsonic 23" monitor? Thanks |
