I saw this drive for $119 that supports both blu-ray and HD-DVD(I have 25 of them) and was wondering if it still gets the firmware for the blu-ray player updated and if it is a decent drive? thanks

The software that came with it, Cyberlink Suite 1.0 is doing well for me. Just make sure you update the software by pushing the red arrow when installing the software for a free update. Don't forget as well to update the firmware from 1.02v to 1.03v. I did a review of this drive on newegg.com under the name Kem. Take care and good luck. You will love the drive.

Just to let anyone know.

1. Still cant play "Firefly". No updates available for PWRDVD 7.3.
2. No firmware updates yet for Horton Hears a Who.
Of course you cant tell if its firmware or software updates needed.

If I would have know the hassles I never would have bought a BD player.

some movies just don't work. the mummy returns will not play on mine for whatever reason?
