Default Just bought a new panny, suggestions?

Hello all, bought my first blu ray player this past week (DMP-BD35K). Also I upgraded my tv to a 50in panny plasma (TH-50PE8U). I love my tv but sometimes I wonder if I should of got the 1080p. I am still debating on whether or not to take it back and drop the extra 450$ to get the 50PZ80U. What do you all think? I mostly watch movies and play xbox, and my viewing distance is about 8 feet away. Do you all think that i will notice a big difference? I only ask because sometimes I notice a grainy noise in the picture. thanks

I had a DLP 720P Samsung Tv as my first realy HD content. I just sold it and bought a Panny plasma 50' 85U 1080P set. I could tell the difference from my old tv to this new one. Id like to get the best for what is offered as of now and that is 1080P. I watch blu-ray movies and game on my PS3.

You are right on the edge of noticing the difference between 1080p and 720p.

I think what you really need to ask yourself is how long do you expect for this to be your primary TV? If you plan on replacing it in a few years then the 720p should be good enough. If you want to keep it for longer then I would take it back for a 1080p model.

Excellent choice on the Panasonic though.

I've got 2 768p Pany plasmas, and love 'em both! Blus and HD cable look amazing on them both. Upgrading to 1080p should not make any difference in terms of "grain", or whatever you are seeing. If you were seeing SDE (screen door effect), which is where you can actually see the individual pixels, then I'd suggest the upgrade, but based on my personal experience I would not advise it. My 2-cents.
