Default Samsung LN46A860 vs Sony46XBR6

Looking to purchase HD TV within a few days. At first liked the Sony 46XBR6
but after seeing/reading reviews I think I might get the Samsung LN46A860. If anyone has these TV's, can you tell me your like/dislikes about them. Thanks

I saw an XBR6 at Howards big screen the other day, it looked alright, I could tell they didn't have a filter or anything like BB and CC cause it looked liked SD junk. at least at BB and CC they look decent, I asked for a remote which they gave me but all the settings were locked so I couldn't mess with it. Of all the TV's in there it looked the closest to the Panny 58", but the brightness was turned WAY up. None of the TV's in there looked all that good, no wonder I was the only person in there.

Overall, I am sure the TV is great, Samsung and Sony make top notch LCD's so I would think either way you will be very, very happy.

Its a great looking TV but in a dark environment, I feel that I see too many backlight flaws. I have tried two sets so I know it was not an isolated incident. If I turn te lights up, it is not as noticable, but since I know it is there, it bothers me.

For me, it was too much distraction once I saw and and am expecting my new Panny 800u plasma in exchenge for the 860 within the hour.

Some have blamed the thin design for these issues. I considered the 750 in exchange since the floor model I saw had none of the issues I have with te 860, but once I saw the plasma, I fell in love and made my decision.

Good luck with your decision!

Get the xbr6 it has much better black levels than the samsung and it's dejudder mode is more natural and smoother the only complaint reviewers had with the xbr6 was that it was too expensive when it was released the but prices have come down by Sony dramatically due to the economy and to be more competitive since then to the point where they are priced evenly. I honestly feel like Samsung's quality just isn't up to par in no shape or form to Sony's.
