I have the PC version and it is a good experiance. You wont be able to get the graphics as good as the PC and the AI aren't as good, but you will et the gist of the game. It is a well-balanced shooter and will keep you entertained. The only reason I stopped playing it is because I am addicted to Left 4 Dead, again on the PC.

I finished it and found that the speech from the chracters was as if it was sped up and was delivered void of emotion which gave a detracted feel on the story and the main bug bear was the check point s respawned continiously and the constant driving got quite tiresome with these elements added. once completed traded it in on Resistance 2 and COD:WAW. once thru play only for me. wanted more from this game so much

fear half life and now far cry 2 . is it that pc games arent working on the ps3??
also ex-box 360 ports (1/100 of a pc ) suffer from the same fate.

single player story mode is good as a once through - very challenging

Online is poor - slow and always disconnecting

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for a game to be a port it has to first come out on one system/pc and then later be "ported" to another system/pc. As far as I know Farcry 2 came out simultaneously for all three (PS3, X360, and PC) which would mean it is not a port; and at $26 I don't mind the frame rate slowing down every once in a while.

Cool

Got into Farcry 2 today. I like the game but there are instances where the damn bad guy just won't die! I emptied an entire clip at point blank range with one of the MG's and the guy only dropped to his knees! And what the hell is up with guard posts spotting you from a mile away?

Stupid errors like this severely detract from the overall experience for me. I'm thinking I should've picked up COD: WAW instead.

No, I think the game is written for one system, and then after developing the framework, it is ported to the other systems. The lead system in development VS follow systems.

it is trying to get it to work for a system it was not designed for, not the date of release...

That is how I understand it at least.
