Greatest Hits: Next Wave?

According to Wikipedia "A PlayStation 3 game must be on the market for 10 months and sell at least 500,000 copies to meet the Greatest Hits criteria."

Would anyone like to speculate what games are going to become Greatest Hits? If they'll come as another "wave" or just one or a couple at a time.

I would venture to guess:

Uncharted
Ratchet and Clank
Devil May Cry 4
Call of Duty 4

and I would have guessed Burnout Paradise but there's a re-release coming in February and Amazon has it for $40. Possibly that is when the next "wave will come by my guess.

I would pick up DMC4 for <$30, but I would be surprised to see COD4 as a GH game that soon because they had a recent price booster with the add-on map pack.

I am seen the Game of the Year for $40 almost everywhere I go... I think it is at that point now.




So, PS2 was lacking in the online games area, Meaning I dont know the answer; my question is, how do games with heavy online content (like COD4, Socom, Warhawk) do with rooms and players when things die down and they are rereleased as greatest hits? Still a lot of traffic, or has it died out mostly?

COD4 and Warhawk community are still alive and kicking, IDK about SOCOM because I don't have the game, but I would guess it's doing great as well.

Yes, I know they are now... I am wondering what it will be like down the road... ie support, number of players, how many servers will be up to play on, et cetera.

We dont really know how much online use you will be able to get X number of months down the road, because it has not happened yet... This generation is just now seeing greatest hits for online heavy games...

It will be interesting to see if there will always be a large enough number of players bouncing around on Warhawk et al, or will games where the draw is online game play be dead in 18, 24, 36, or 48 months? If so, the greatest hits requirments might have to change, because there is no point in buying a game to play online if no one is online



It is like after the KZ beta ended, there is often one server with one guy running around... strange how things can die like that...

I would think that SCIV would also be considered for that in 2009.

It would be great to get DMC 4, but I don't think it will happen soon.
