Default Any Digital Copy Codes?

Hey guys. I am going overseas for a few weeks and unfortunately I will not be taking my BDs with me...I was wondering if any of you that is interested can PM me Digital copy codes that you don't need so I can get them from iTunes and take with me as a movie collection so i wont be bored out of my mind during these few weeks.

I don't care what movie really, as long as I have time to spare.

Thanks in advance!

TRANSLATION: I'd like to break the law and I'd like somebody to help me do it.

No offense, but if you want movies, pay for them yourself.

Wow. You posted before you thought. Always a dangerous thing to do. You should refrain from doing so as you make yourself look like an idiot.

There is NOTHING wrong with asking for DC codes. Nothing. They are yours to do whatever you want to do with. Sell, give away, trash or keep. There is nothing illegal about giving them away. Period.

So - will SAINT INTERNET please go away. Thanks

How is downloading a Digital Copy from iTunes with a code given to you breaking the law?

Edit: Well said DrinkMore!

Yeah, cause movie studios love it when you can watch their movie for free. Dude, it's so illegal.

You still need the DVD that the digital copy comes on. The .m4v file is on the Digital Copy DVD, you're just using iTunes to transfer it. So having the code itself won't do anything for you.

I am currently out of the country and I pre-ordered The Dark Knight on blu-ray from Amazon which was shipped to my house in the states.
Amazon emailed me a code that I could download and watch the film as well; however (like Hulu and everything else) it does not work outside the US.

Is this code that Amazon emails the same as the Digital Copy or is that separate?

Mosy likely you are not going to get caught, but read the terms. It is definitely illegal. Come on, you guys really think it's ok to give a digital copy to someone? Maybe some of you missed the whole music downloading fiasco of the 2000's . Just read the policies below.

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF USE, ALL RULES AND POLICIES RELATED TO THE WARNER BROS. DIGITAL COPY SERVICE, WARNERBROS.COM PRIVACY POLICY, AND WARNERBROS.COM TERMS OF USE (COLLECTIVELY, THE “AGREEMENT”) BEFORE USING THE WARNER BROS. DIGITAL COPY SERVICE. IF YOU USE THE WARNER BROS. DIGITAL COPY SERVICE, YOU WILL BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT.

1. THE SERVICE

The Warner Bros. Digital Copy Service (the “Service”) offers a digital copy of a motion picture for which you have purchased an eligible DVD of the same motion picture which offers a digital copy (“Digital Content”) and other services under certain terms and conditions as set forth in this Agreement. The Service is available only to residents of the United States and Canada. The Service expires on December 31, 2008. The Service may be terminated earlier in the sole discretion of Warner Bros. Entertainment (“Warner Bros.”).

Upon your provision to Warner Bros. of a valid authorization code, Warner Bros. grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited right and license to retain and view a permanent copy of the Digital Content and to view, use, and privately display the Digital Content in your Residence or for Permitted Non-Residential Use subject to the Agreement. You may retain a copy of the Digital Content on the hard drive of your one (1) Authorized Device (or other device specifically authorized by Warner Bros.) to which the Digital Content was initially delivered via the process described in the Agreement. You may not copy (for back-up purposes or otherwise) the Digital Content, including, without limitation, on removable media (e.g., recordable DVD). Warner Bros. will not replace the Digital Content if you are unable to play it of if you lose the Digital Content including if the Digital Content becomes damaged or corrupt, your Authorized Device crashes, your hard drive fails or the Digital Content does not play for any other reason.

a. General Restrictions. You may not transfer, copy or display the Digital Content except as permitted in this Agreement. In addition, you may not:

i. Sell, rent, lease, distribute, broadcast, sublicense or otherwise assign any right to the Digital Content to any third party;

ii. Remove any proprietary notices or labels on the Digital Content;

iii. Attempt to disable, bypass, modify, defeat, or otherwise circumvent any of the digital rights management or other security related tools incorporated into the Digital Content;

iv. Use the Service or Digital Content for any commercial or illegal purpose.

Okay sorry, I had no idea this was 'illegal'...although it does not make any sense.

And um. What does my love for Britney Spears have ANYTHING to do with you or this thread. At least I don't hide what I enjoy like a lot of people do and I like someone that has proven herself time after time and has came out from under to the top of the charts AGAIN AND AGAIN.

I don't appreciate people on here using their smart comments to discriminate others just because of what they like. I never discriminate anything you like, do I?...and I do not like Britney Spears. I LOVE Britney Spears, thank you very much.

Seriously grow up!

And thank you everyone else for the help!

Basically, do this at your own risk. I just don't want to see you spend 10 years in prison or have a $250,000 fine. You know how much home theater equipment you could buy with that ?

Im sure the movie studios are tracking down "digital copy theft" when they have millions downloading illegal movies online...

Yeh thanks guys for the info...I'm glad i know now that it's considered illegal.

I mean I had no idea as I always give my buddies a couple of these codes so I thought it was no problem.

I have DC codes for Get Smart, Speed Racer, Fred Claus, and Another Cinderella Story (code given to me by a friend). The problem is, they cost $1.99 to download and they only work with Windows Media Player.

I use iPod + iTunes, so I'll give out the DC codes for free if anyone wants them.

If you read the first part of the agreement you are not bound by the agreement unless you use the digital copy.

Therefore the law doesn't apply until the person using the digital copy enters the code.

So it's not illegal to give the codes away if you don't intend to use them.
