Is this the Jet Li Shaolin Temple or the Shaw Brothers one?

at 116 minutes, it seems like it is the 1976 Shaw Brothers film. Could be a good replacement for the non-anamorphic DVD that celestial released.

Good movie, but not a full blown classic in the Shaw library.

Just done a Google translation and it is the Shaw version. At least it means a lot of the Shaw library will be getting a blu ray release which is good news...I think Shaolin Temple is a great Shaw film , one of my favourites.

Could not disagree with you more. As a part of director Chang Cheh's Shaolin Cycle of films from his Taiwan production co., this is considered by many a Shaw fan to be a classic ensemble film, featuring all of Chang's protege's:

David Chiang
Ti Lung
Li Yin Min
The Venoms
and the ever popular Alexander Fu Sheng. Surprisingly, Chen Kuai Tai is absent from the cast.

Shaolin Temple isn't Chang Cheh's Mona Lisa, but i would love to see it on Blu Ray....unfortunatly i cannot find any indication of its actual release besides the announced release in taiwan....
