Planet Earth is one. The Shallow Seas episode is still the most amazing thing I have ever seen in HD and is a great way to showcase an hdtv.

It really depends upon your tastes in movies. I'd suggest getting any movie that is in the tier 0 category if you want some demo material. With that said, here would be my choices (not that I followed my advice...much of my first blu ray order was dictated by finances and what was on sale This list will give you a variety of movies to enjoy).

Kung Fu Panda (animation)
The Black Knight (action)
Into the Wild (drama)
Planet Earth (documentary)
The Godfather Collection (classic cinema)

Also be aware that if you purchase the Panasonic BD35 there's an offer from Panasonic for 2 free movies (that are superb demo material and great movies as well). These are:

Ratatouille
The NIghtmare Before Christmas

Craig

I agree with Band of Brothers, great war series. During one of the shelling scenes I was checking my walls for shrapnel holes.

Another recommendation is Speed Racer. It is visually beautiful, and a well done story. Unfortunately it is not lossless audio, but it's overlookable I think.
