Default How can the iTunes store be better?

I like iTunes for the most part but some things are really annoying like "STAFF" picks. No offense but do I really care about what the staff thinks. I've also noticed lately that the iTUNEs database of music isn't as deep as I had once suspected it to be. POWER SEARCH is unforgiving and you would think in this day and age you can type lyrics of a song in and wa-la the database finds the song but no such luck. Also, why don't they promote stuff like AMAZON and do lightning hour where songs are .49 instaed of .99. Anyway, do you guys like the iTUNES Store as is or do you think it can be better?

P.S. I contacted someone at iTunes who said, "They would be glad to consider any input", so post away so I can forward.

I would agree with you about the search part. They could revamp it a little. Having sales would be awesome, but they only do sales with whole albums, and they only take 2 bucks off

Get rid of the fluff and lower the price of songs! Otherwise people will still get it for free elsewhere.

That's why I buy CDs. The audio quality is better, and they're cheaper than digital downloads.

Default Re: Digital Copies

I'd have to say that better search functions would get my vote. Price-wise...maybe cheaper movies, if they're older? I mean, part of the reason that disc based media is so expensive is due to the materials needed to create them. If I'm buying it online, you don't have to make the discs, packaging and so on. I mean, I can buy a DVD copy of some of the older flicks on iTunes for half (or less than half) of what they charge. For example, I can buy a copy of Bram Stoker's Dracula from Wally World on DVD for $5.00. On iTunes, I'd pay $10. You really want to stop people from copying movies, make it worth their while. Anyway. My $.02

Aren't mp3's you buy on the iTunes store still DRM restricted? I would never buy anything that I couldn't burn or share as much as I want.

Negative, you can burn 'em with no problem.

The iTunes store can get better by them re-designing it to work better with Windows operating systems.

iTunes on Windows is a joke. The OS X version is ten times better. Same goes with Safari.

As long as they charge currency for songs people will find other ways, I don't think that is a valid argument.

I think that the App Store should go back to being able to sort out the FREE apps... they used to have it, but don't anymore... presumably so you have to go and actually search for free apps, rather than having them at your fingertips. They want your money!

itunes could be better if it shut down and revamped the whole thing. itunes is a joke. the price is often times more than retail and then sometimes you don't even get the whole album. like the 2 disc version of 10,000 maniacs' campfire songs. it's just one disc on itunes. or sometimes they even outright lie. like the legacy edition of dead man walking. it's a legacy edition because it comes with a second disc. not on itunes though. it's the exact same as the regular version released back in 1995. what a rip off. oh and some actual selection would be nice. they hardly have anything in their selection. very little abra moore or sugarcubes to name a couple. when the retail store has it so should itunes.

Default iTunes is ok, but streaming would be nice.

I love iTunes, and I love the fact new Blu-ray movies ship with Digital Copies; but there is one thing I would like to see ...and it will never happen. With NetBooks being limited to space, and the MacBook Air being capped at 128GB, it be nice if Apple worked with Microsoft to create some program to work on a Windows Home Server, which would allow TV Shows and Movies to be streamed from there, rather than having to save it on a computer like the Air (in which one likely has a 30GB virtual machine or partition of Vista/XP already taking up space).

Apple and Microsoft work together ...ya, sure
