Sub $100 Blu Ray Player - Blu-ray Forum

Happy Holidays Everyone,

On Friday night, the Army & Air Force Exchange BX Hickam AFB here in Hawaii, had their "Midnight Madness" sale for 4 hours. One of the specials was a Sylvania Blu-ray player NB501SL9 WAS $259, ON SALE FOR $99.97

. I used a $10 off coupon made it $89.97. I got there early and grabed one from the pallet of about 40-45 before they shrink wrapped the whole thing. Another 10 lucky people grabbed themselves one before the wrapping. I then watched from afar when the start of the sale 2130 (930 pm) the pallet was wrapping was torn through. It looked like sharks in a frenzy over chum and scraps. In less than a minute the remaining players were gone.

Is this the first recorded instance of this, the hitherto elusive $99 BR player?
