This doesn't surprise me in the least. They had a hard time competing with Best Buy, Target, Wal Mart and Fry's here in Indianapolis. The closest to me in Castleton hardly has any business. Anytime I've been to my bank in the same parking lot, there are hardly any cars there.

No surprise, CC has been pretty irrelevant for years.

Default Circuit City Store Closings

The Day has come, I spoke with my brother who works in the Manassass Va store and that store has been slated to close. I believe word is its only 3 in VA, One close to NOVA and the other 2 further south, I believe Charlotesville and another store he wasnt sure. Easiest way to figure out whats closing is use the find a store and see if any stores are gone.
He said luiquidators will be in the store tomorrow and his store will be closed Tuesday, only to reopen Wednesday by the liquidation company until the merchandise is gone.

BAD NEWS gets worse for Circuit City. With the pending holiday season coming, Sony has ordered ALL merchandise be returned to Sony in fear of non payment. LINK

Looks like CC's days are numbered. It wouldn't surpise me if the company doesn't make it past 2009.

Dont you love how old that store looks in the picture. Anyways did anyone notice any stores missing from that list.

Check stores on Wednesday for liquidation deals

As soon as I get word that CC is completely going bye bye (all stores closing), I'm canceling the CC credit card I have (I can only use it at CC stores and CC.com). Also, they a eyebrow raiser that Sony is recalling all new shipments from CC. That could be tricking down to other companies to do the same with CC.

good riddance, i couldn't stand going in their stores. a lot of them were incredibly disorganized and i could never find someone to help me when i needed it.

sadly though, this means less competition for best buy which means less amazing deals from either side. circuit city had some occasional incredible deals which i would always price match at best buy, i'll give it that.

They didn't really offer much comp to begin with (partly the reason they are slowly going away). There's still Target, Walmart, and online retailers so there's not much to fear because if BB is smart, they'll continue that they are doing or they'll join CC down the road.

PS I worked for them and it was a terrible job (then again that could be said for every retail job out there lol).

i know my CC card is a Visa through Chase bank, and they arent going anywhere so they will be around to collect their debt. I know thats not you are implying, but thats for those thinking along them lines. Montgomery Wards when they closed sold all their credit card accounts to Wal-Mart for pennies on the dollar.

MY CC doesn't have a Visa logo on it (it the one that can only be used at CC stores and CC.com) Also, I've never even used it (it has a $1500 limit) since there hasn't been any deals there for me to use it. At this rate, I'm never going to use it (better off that way).

Hey jwbbud, you should have your signature reading "oooooooooh I hate that rabbit" since you have the Yosemite Sam pic.

No. Mines still on there. Which makes no sense because they really don't do anything over there for about a year now. And they're across the street from Best Buy.

Which means more people in the store and more crowded.

This had been a long time coming. I remember on FNN (Financial News Network) back in late 2005, early 2006 when CC was 1st in finanical trouble, they were saying that not to be surpised that CC goes out of business. Looks like that's coming to fruition.
