Default Looking for perfect tv for my new home theater room...suggestions?

Alright, so I am building a house and I am looking for a new tv to get for my bonus room which will become a dedicated theater room. I currently have two samsungs, 46 and 40in. I am looking for a 50+ tv to wall mount. Any suggestions on what would be the best tv out there? Samsung, Sony? Any help would be great guys!

Sony has the new 55"...

Pioneer has the incredible Kuro...

Samsung sells both types. Slightly under these pinnacle TV's, but still stunners. And you can't knock Panasonic and Sharp units, but they are just a tad under Sony and Pioneer.

You have a lot to choose from, but those are the best, no question.

If you don't absolutely HAVE to wall-mount the set, consider an LED DLP -- the best bang for your buck in big-screen HD. There are a lot of advantages to these DLP sets -- from all manufacturers. These new LED sets have:
-- Thin cabinets (my 56" is only 15" deep)
-- Great energy efficiency (LED's instead of expensive projector-lamp assemblies)
-- Great color (and no more color wheels with their problems)
-- Awesome brightness and contrast
-- Thinnest surrounding cabinet frame (typically only 1/2 inch on sides and top)
-- Tremendous range of sizes (50" to 73", all for fewer bucks than any other type)
-- Wonderfully broad viewing angle

And if you DO need a wall mount, put up a shelf and place the DLP on it!

If you've got the bucks, check out the all the plasmas and LCD's too. Just dont count out the DLP sets just because they're not the obvious choice for wall mounting.

Hmm, didn't think about LEDs. I will look into those and see. I do enjoy the cheaper price but not losing out on anything.

Rear Projections aren't bad, but I'd go with the Samsung 950 series, it has LED.

Whats your budget? if it is above the $2-4k range, then I would say get a Pioneer Kuro 5020 around $2440 or the Pro 111FD $4399 on Amazon. That would be the best thing for a TH room. IMO. Otherwise if you are going LCD the Samsung 950 $3680 or Sony XBR8 $6199 both in 55". Although I wouldn't personally spend an extra $2500 to have the Sony over the Samsung.

Also, if you can find a rear projection like the SXRD somewhere, those are prolly the best ones out there but you may have to buy used or find someone with one still lingering around...

Personally I would go with the 5020 off amazon though.
