Default How do I remove player in LBP?

I can't seem to figure out how to remove a player while in Little Big Planet. Sometimes I will play with my sister and her boyfriend buy, (like last night), my sister will eventually want to stop and just watch. In this case, how do I remove her from the game without quitting to the XMB and then re-launching? I figured that option would fall under "Manage Players" when I hit start, but there is always a line through it and I can't select it, (online only?).
I also thought that if i just turned off her controller that would take care of it, but I can no longer figure out how to turn the controller off now that the PS button takes you to the XMB.

Turning off the controller will take the player out of the game. To turn off the controller, you must HOLD the middle button.

To add to this, turning the controller off won't make them disappear, but it will prevent them from respawning. So once you turn the controller off, do whatever you need to do to make that person die (it's easiest to just continue on along the level, and leave them behind, so that they are off screen and die).

Make sure your blue tooth blu-ray controller ( if you have one ) doesn't get turned on accidentally. That's happened to me before where I hit a button and it just spawned and didn't know how to turn it off, lol.

they've got you covered on how to remove a player who is with you in person.

I'd like to add that you can also kick out online players, whether it's because they're annoying, have a laggy connection, or whatever other reason.
start button > manage players > highlight the player > kick

Yes, the player WILL disappear if you turn the controller off. You don't need to kill the character off. It just takes about 10 seconds to respond. This way, if you are on the verge of acing the level (nobody has died) you can still continue towards that goal.

This will also work if you are in your pod.

Theu will actually poof out in about 30 seconds to a minute I make my son do it all the time when he starts getting goofy when i am trophy hunting

EDIT: I see someone already stated this and 10 seconds or so. Well whatever the time is...when you are waiting it seems like forever
