Default Dan In Real Life! A Holiday Winner!

Thanks to all the people that recommeded this movie; excellent choice. My Girlfriend loved it and **AWHED** about a dozen times. If you haven't seen it, I won't spoil it, I will say its a great family movie especially during the HOLIDAY season. I don't have any children but man I'm sure a lot of you can relate about the growing pains of having girls that, "know it all" at such a young age. Great movie and definitely worthy of any collection.

Yeah, this movie is really good and I like Steve Carell and Juliette Binoche. Haven't seen her in awhile...

Movie surprised me at the beginning, though. It shows him driving over 2 bridges and I started thinking hmmm...looks kinda familiar. Then sure enough I started seeing things I see every day. They shot it in and around my hometown...doh! Gotta get out more and stop watching Blu-Ray

Me and my wife agreed that this movie was way overly cheesy. It wasn't a bad chick flick, but also not that good.

Also, I can't stand Dane Cook.

I love it.

My wife... didn't like it.

But,... I buy everything with Juliette Binoche in it because I have a secret crush on her.

Wow I am totally shocked the way everyone is describing this movie. I saw it and found it to be one of the most depressing movies I have ever watched. There really is nothing feel good about this movie. It finally ends on an upbeat, but seriously 2/3 of this movie just made me want to take prozac.

Love the movie.

Favorite scene - Spoiler. (The softer side of me)

I love the movie more and more each time I see it...

There's a few scenes that are just heart wrenching (mostly in a good way)... The talent show scene, for example. Several scenes that bring a smile as well.

The soundtrack is also wonderful. Sondre Lerche did an awesome job with it.

It's not a particularly amazing film in any one way, but it's just one of those movies that's really easy to watch and kind of heart warming.

I thought this was a great movie and a great Blu-ray (PQ/SQ). I will have to remember to revisit it over the holidays. I need a feel good movie after watching the Grindhouse movies.

IMO it's a 2 1/2 stars out of 4 type of film. The actors do their best(even Dane Cook wasn't horrible), but there's not much material to work with. And Carell and Binoche didn't have very good chemistry.

If I'm not mistaken, Amy Ryan plays Steve Carell's sister in the movie. Interestingly she ended up being his romantic interest on The Office not long after.
