Default Best way to go?

Hey guys, I' am in the market to dress up my system a little. I don't have a surround sound of any kind, but I' am looking to change that. I' am looking for a good entry level or start up system. Budget and room restrictions do apply. More so the budget. I' am not looking to go all out at this time. I have a 37'' Toshiba Regza with 3 HDMI slots, a 80 GB PS3 that came with Motorstorm and a 360 Elite. I would like to pick one up within the next few days, preferably before Christmas. I was looking on Wal-Mart.com and I'm not really sure if one of these systems would be best to go with, or do you guys recommend a system from another dealer. Here's the link to the systems on Wal-Mart's website http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catal...catNavId=77622

If you guys could browse around on it and give me some advice on what way to go it would be very helpful. Looking to spend in the $300-$600 price range.

Well, For $334 you can get a Onkyo 606 receiver and for a GREAT price of $175, you can get the Polk 6750 speakers. If my math is correct, this is well within your $600 budget.

BTW, Not sure how long those speakers will be at that price since they are currently 71% off!!!!

like people had recommended to me first..

polk audio rm6750's $200 @ new egg + onkyo 606 $313 @ 6ave.com( use coupon code "couponcabin")

i got my whole setup for... $673+65 for speaker wires... M50's+CS1 Center+M30's+SR606 Receiver .. so if u stretch your budget for another $150 your setup can been pretty good... no sub yet though

i believe u can still get those deals. pm me if u want some info

The Sony HT-SS2300 is supposed to be a very nice system.

I would either recommend the listed 606 + Polk RM6750 or an Onkyo HTiB. Some folks have Sony receivers and love them, some say they don't like their receivers, but either way it's hard to compete with the feature list the 606 has at that price point.

I have decided to go with the Onkyo 606 and the Polk RM6750. The Polk RM6750 is a 5.1 system, so technically I could add 2 more speakers to the system to get the full effect out of the 606 right? If so, what 2 additional speakers do you guys recommend me getting? Two extra satellite speakers or two book shelf types?

You can get 2 more of those satelittes to complete the 7.1.

If you want to save some money you can go to www.ecost.com and get the 606 refurbished for $257.00.
