Does any one have PSB Alpha T1's (Towers)

My parents have PSB Alpha B1's they have to be the best speaker I have ever heard. I am thinking about the T1 Tower for $499 a pair. The only thing is they have two ports that are the same size, why? Wouldn't they reproduce the same dynamic range. I am stumped as to why the ports would be exacty the same size.

How do people like there Alpha T1 towers?

PSB speakers are outstanding. They are designed by Paul Barton, Canada's most well-known speaker designer. I own the PSB Image Surround Speakers. They are wonderful.

I am not sure what you mean by ports. Ports are usually found on subwoofers for increased low frequency response. Sometimes designers use two ports for additional output. In my experience, they are always the same size.

If you mean two identical drivers, then the dual 5.25-inch woofers paired with a 3/4-inch tweeter in what is typically called D'Appolito array (named after the original designer Joseph D'Appolito) for increased off-axis and on-axis response. This generally gives you a wider dispersion.

The Alpha T1 has more cabinet volume thus improving lower frequency response. If you like the B1s then the T1s will sound similar with more bass and you dont have to buy a speaker stand!
