AMAZON - the ultimate scam

All of our points in the past were just proven true to me. Using my roommate's account at AMAZON (as he mistakenly deposited a gift card there for me, but that's another story) - I tried to order some of the TV shows that are showing on MY account at BOGO - however, his account does not have the same BOGO available! Made it all the way to checkout - hoping they would deduct 1/2 the amount - but they were ready to charge FULL amounts. I emailed them and asked them what kind of scam are they running...

Anyone else ever encounter a similar problem? How many of you have the BOGO TV show offer? And how many don't?

So to be clear.... Amazon has extended a special offer to some and not others. You were offered this, your room mate was not, and that's somehow a scam?

Wow, the avatar juuuust hit me Sushi. Anyway, uhm, Amazon does that with gold box where they target discounts based on prior purchasing history, I'm guessing same thing here.

Thanks for verbalizing my thoughts. I re-read the original post half a dozen times and thought I was missing something obvious.

Not every account on Amazon gets the same offers. I did the same thing at my friend's house, my account could get something discounted and his could not. As was mentioned it's based on past account history, therefore not a scam.
